Benefits Of Tea: There Is More To It Than Just A Cup

Soothing, Calming (Acne Zapping!) Tea

The next time you're feeling anxious, fix yourself a cup of tea. But don't rush to finish it. Sit down and savour its warmth. Notice its rich, beautiful colour. Then deeply inhale its wonderful aroma. Take a sip. Ahh… heaven. Oh, but you didn't throw away that tea bag did you?

Pep Up Your Peepers

Tea - in a bag, loose leaf or steeped in warm water - can do wonders. For starters, it'll brighten up your eyes and refresh your skin, making you look as if you got 8 hours of sleep (instead of the actual four). So the next time you've got panda eyes - from lack of sleep or from staring at the computer for too long - set a timer for fifteen minutes, lie down and place a wet tea bag over each eye. You'll wake up feeling fresh and sparkly-eyed.

Freshen Your Tootsies

But don't stop at just your eyes. Tea's refreshing (your peepers should be able to attest to that by now) so is it any surprise that it can also soothe tired feet? To do that, steep half a cup of tea leaves in three litres of water for at least ten minutes. Strain and let cool (if you're not going to use the brew immediately, pop it in the fridge and it'll keep for up to a week).

Make a refreshing foot bath by pouring enough tea into a basin to cover both your feet until above the ankles. Add a few ice cubes and soak for fifteen minutes.
A fabulous bonus: tea has anti-fungal properties for truly fresh tootsies.

Tea's also great for keeping your skin blemish-free.

The next time you get a pimple, dab a wet tea bag against the red spot and let it dry - the tea will reduce the swelling and redness. Got a lot of acne? Try making your own acne-zapping face mask. Start by steeping two green tea bags in 6 oz. of hot water for 5 minutes.

Then add the tea, a tablespoon at a time, into a cup of aloe vera gel (you can buy this at the pharmacy) until the mixture's consistency is less thick than the aloe vera gel but not too runny. Apply to your face every morning and night, leaving it to dry before putting on your moisturiser and makeup. Your skin should clear up in 3-4 weeks.

Top Four Skincare Mistakes Women Make

Your skin remembers when you do not take care of it....

Avoid these major skincare mistakes and your skin will say thank you by staying plump, smooth and flawless.

Drinking too little water
Yup, the golden rule of drinking 6-8 glasses of water still applies. And there's a good reason for that too. Drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day not only keeps your body and skin hydrated, it'll keep you looking young because your skin looks plump and is less prone to developing wrinkles.

You can substitute water with freshly squeezed juice (make sure you hold the sugar!) but not coffee and soft drinks. They contain caffeine, which is a diuretic. It'll encourage your body to excrete water instead of keeping all that hydrated goodness inside.

A can't-resist bonus: your body burns more fat because your internal organs work better when they're fully hydrated.

Sleeping with makeup on
Oh, we’ve all done it. Came home late and crashed into bed. “The makeup remover can wait,” you think. Well, actually, it can’t. Just think about all the stuff that your skin’s been exposed to. Pollution, cigarette smoke, sweat – your face is now the ideal breeding ground for bacteria, which can lead to acne.

Also, because makeup clogs pores, your skin can’t breathe through the night, leaving you with dry, flaky and definitely-not-sexy skin in the morning. Try keeping a few of those handy baby wipes next to your bed. You can use it to remove your makeup… lying down.

Leaving your skin thirsty at night
You know what would be another great thing to have next to your bed? A jar of night cream. Night time’s when your skin gets a break from fighting off UV rays and concentrates on rebuilding and rejuvenating itself. But it needs some moisture to do this, which is exactly what your night cream provides.

Just make sure that your night cream contains active ingredients such as retinol, vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs). They help boost skin repair. Another great habit to cultivate: apply another layer of night cream if you wake up in the middle of the night. It’ll keep your skin plump, young and dewy. Love!

Skipping sunscreen
Now that you’ve got your night time skin care routine down pat, it’s time to wake up to a new day. So you’ve got your cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Great! But wait, where’s your sunscreen? It’s a daily must. And because it’s super important, we’re going to say it again: sunscreen is a daily must.

It protects your skin from those harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays which generate free radicals (cancer alert!) and ages your skin prematurely. For best protection, choose a sunscreen with a high SPF (Sun Protection Factor) and combats both UVA and UVB rays.

Apply liberally every day even if it’s cloudy. In the sun all the time? Reapply liberally every four hours.

Benefits Of Coconut Water And Virgin Coconut Oil

Coconut tree gives us its everything.  When we were little and in school, we were taught how useful coconut trees can be to our daily lives.  The leaves can be ataps roof, the branches can be brooms, the trunk can be a bridge.  The coconut fruit itself, just like its mother tree, offers aplenty, refreshing drink, pure white tasty santan milk, husk and shell that fuel cookings and they make nice decors and utensils too.

Coconuts don't just offer us its everything.  Each of its everything offers us countless benefits.

The following is excerpts from the website Virgin Coconut Oil.

The juice of the coconut fruit is not just a tasty refreshing drink, it is also a healthy beverage with lots of good benefits for the body because it is 100% fat free and low in sugar and carbohydrates content.
The water inside the coconut is also filled with organic compounds that helps one maintain a healthy and strong body.  Here are some of the benefits one can get from coconut water:

Coconut Water Prevents Dehydration. People who are active such as athletes or simply those who are fitness enthusiasts are always at risk to be dehydrated because the body loses fluids when doing strenuous activities. For this reason active people are advised to regularly drink coconut water because it replaces the fluids and essential minerals that are lost during a physical activity.

Coconut Water Is A Natural Cure For Kidney Stones and UTI. If you are having difficulty peeing because you are suffering from urinary tract infection (UTI) or other urinary problems, then regular consumption of coconut water can relieve you of this illness.
People with kidney stones are also advised to drink coconut water to naturally and effectively get rid of the stones.  Plus coconut water is also a detoxifier that reduces toxin in the body.

Coconut Water Keeps Digestive System Healthy.  This is because coconut water kills intestinal worms.

One of the essential gifts of coconut is its oil.  Virgin coconut oil is the oil in its most natural unrefined form.  Virgin Coconut Oil is high in lauric acid (also present in human breast milk) which is very beneficial in attacking viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens. Its antimicrobial properties can be used to fight various diseases.

Virgin coconut oil is one of the few herbal supplements that you can enjoy both ways; internally and externally. Taking the recommended dosage of three tablespoons a day of virgin coconut oil is beneficial but simply applying it on skin can also help you in a variety ways.
